Life is short, pour it up! Pour it up!

Introduction#

This week I worked the night shift, working from the afternoon until dawn. The night shifts in the past were relatively relaxed, and I usually had a lot of time to study. However, this week was unusually different as there was suddenly an increase in projects that needed support, and I had meetings every day. In addition, there were various customer issues on our cloud environment, which made me very busy every day this week. I was woken up in the morning for meetings and had various meetings in the afternoon, filling up my time. The night shift on Friday lasted until late, and on Saturday morning, I had to wake up early for property transfer. This is my first house in Chengdu and one of the few things I have been looking forward to during this time.

I deliberately arrived early at the property management office but found that it was already crowded. I heard that people would rush in when the doors opened, otherwise they would not be able to get a number for the morning and would have to wait until the afternoon. The real estate market in Chengdu has been warming up, but I feel that the demand for those who should have bought a house last year but didn't will decrease. Although I don't understand the real estate market economy very well, the real estate market in Chengdu feels like it has a large bubble, and non-essential buyers should be cautious.

Sansejie Night Market#

After a tiring week, my girlfriend and I decided to find a place to relax. My girlfriend found a night market street next to an extreme sports park, where the unique feature is that the vendors sell their goods from the trunks of their cars.

Although I don't know much about cars, I know about the Suzuki Beidouxing. One time when I was on a business trip to Macau, a colleague from Hong Kong enthusiastically recommended this car to me, saying that it can be extensively customized to one's liking, with the trunk being able to be turned into a wine cabinet for selling wine on the street! In the Sansejie Night Market, these cars have become a gathering place for vendors. In the trunks, there are not only wine but also coffee, hamburgers, lemon tea, and more. This selling format is jokingly called "camping style" and does give a camping-like feeling, except that there are too many people, making it feel like an open-air food festival.

This week, there was heavy snow and sandstorms in the north, and Chengdu was also experiencing fluctuating temperatures. I had to put on thicker clothes again and followed the crowd to the roadside food stalls, where there was an overwhelming variety of food.

Coffee, cocktails, beer, milk tea, as well as grilled skewers, teppanyaki, instant noodles, hamburgers, roasted birds, braised dishes, Thai-style salads, and various other foods. Each stall has its own specialties and style, some have small bars made from car trunks, some are makeshift stalls made from wooden boards and iron sheets, and some are small houses decorated with colorful lights and flower garlands. Each stall has its own sign and slogan, some are humorous, some are enticing, and some are creative.

My girlfriend likes to eat pork intestines, and there was a stall selling pork intestines wrapped with green onions. We bought one to try, but the taste was average and not recommended. However, if you're here to drink with friends, you can consider trying it as a side dish with alcohol.

Afterword#

If you want to experience this "camping style" street food, you can come and try the Sansejie Night Market, but be sure to take care of your wallet as the prices here are a bit high, in other words, the cost performance is not very good. It is recommended to eat before coming and just take some photos.

Small Talk#

OpenAI is causing chaos on the internet with their GPT, and many internet practitioners are both excited and anxious because this thing can generate content that would take humans a long time to summarize and generalize in a matter of minutes. Now GPT can even be installed as a plugin, taking its capabilities to the next level. I don't know what the future holds for GPT, but I hope that it can indeed solve many things that humans are not good at, thereby freeing up human labor to some extent. At the same time, there will definitely be more job opportunities emerging, and another "internet revolution" should be coming soon. Instead of being anxious, it's better to take the time to travel to different places and try various new things, discovering that life can be lived in this way. Live seriously and eat well.
